Can my attorney authorize settlement without my permission?

Never! The only one that can decide to accept a settlement offer is the client. As your personal injury attorney, my foremost concern is making sure that you as the client receive a fair settlement while being kept fully informed throughout the process. While I have a good amount of experience that guides my professional opinion as to what I think may be fair, my judgment is NEVER the deciding factor. The only one that can decide whether to accept a settlement is you as the client.

I will do my best to assist you in deciding whether you should settle based on my extensive knowledge of jury verdicts in the State of Illinois and Missouri. While similar cases do not necessarily control your case's value, they are helpful guideposts to use as a reference point. Each case must still be given consideration in its own right, as many different factors can impact outcomes. Some lawyers do not like to compare their clients cases to other similar cases. I disagree. It is better to learn from the mistakes of others than make those mistakes yourself, especially when it could cost your client time and money.
